HOW TO HAVE LONG UNPRODUCTIVE MEETINGS

By Coach MYKE | Published On January 25, 2019

1. "I want to lend my voice to what Mr A said"

2. "Mrs B has said it all, I just want to emphasize a point she made"

3. Heavy, long tea breaks.

4. Lack of or unfollowed agenda.

5. Trying to reiterate what has been said for the benefit of latecomers.

6. 'Carrying people along'

7. Trying to get a unanimous decision. Use a vote system instead, unless that particular decision has to be unanimous.

8. Protocols. "With the kind permission of Mr Chairman,.."

"Mr chairman Sir, vice chairman, Secretary, observer, and all seated, I want to say..."

9. Re-opening a resolution reached at the previous meeting.

10. Waiting for all to be in attendance.

This list is in no way exhaustive.
